As
a Destin area native I have
seen the Emerald Coast continually
transforming from sleepy, small
town communities into what has
now become one of the most dynamic
and growing regions in the nation.
What once was only a summer
time place to spend spring break
or the big family vacation has
now become a location to invest
in second homes, condominiums,
pre-construction developments,
lot parcels, or raw acreage.
New planned communities are
under development throughout
the Emerald Coast and the greater
Florida panhandle area. Along
with the ever increasing volume
of resort investment properties
is the necessity to meet the
housing needs of the large military
population in the surrounding
area. As the host to the largest
Air Force base in the world,
the military population in the
Florida panhandle is expected
to increase drastically due
to the Base Realignment and
Closing (BRAC) which is slated
to bring over 3000 additional
families to the counties of
the Emerald Coast over the next
few years.
The increase
in resort investment properties,
the increase in housing starts
to accommodate the military,
and the dynamic real estate
market will undoubtedly put
the skills of the active Florida
panhandle real estate agent
to the test in the coming years.
I am prepared to meet that challenge
through my having worked to
attain a Bachelor of Science
in Business Administration from
the University of West Florida,
and my experience of being a
small business owner within
the Emerald Coast community.
